Salvaged Oak Pallet Bench

This was definitely a case of the material dictating the design. I've had these oak pallet sticks in my shop for a few months, trying to figure out the best way to show off the nail holes and knots. It's nice to give new life to something that might otherwise have been someone's firewood.

  1. What a good looking bench :)
Can I ask if you need extra support in the middle?

Do you have photos of the bench from underneath?
Do you have instructions? Im a wood work novice and I would love to replicate this.

  2. There is no other reinforcement, just thick mortise and tenon joints. The seat is almost 2" thick, so I mortised in half way through.

If you're going to do something like it, make sure to use a thick hardwood, and use some good wood glue(titebond III).
