The racing stripes are an inlaid bamboo veneer. I shellaced the top to resist scratches and dings in the wood, but have yet to finish the apron and legs.

Huge Armoire

My wife has been bugging me to build something for her stuff, so I took on this project.

The walnut doors are plywood from Greenply. It's a green product but is shipped all the way from New Zealand, so whatever. I'm happy with how it came out, but I have to say that the walnut veneer on the plywood is very thin. I had some tear-out from the cross-cut and if you look closely, there are places where you can see the MDF ply behind the veneer. Next time, I'll find a better quality plywood.

This is over 7' tall, 44" wide and 21" deep, enough for a coat rack. It has six shelves, four adjustable. Made of walnut and maple plywood. The base is removable, and I may put on a brushed aluminum base at some point.

Plyboo headboard and side table

The headboard is the "Neopolitan" style of Plyboo bamboo plywood. I think it comes in a 72" x 36" inch sheet, which would would be short for a king, but works well for a queen. It has a walnut frame and is mounted directly on the wall. The side table I made from scraps of Plyboo the toychest project, and some ipe posts that I had laying around.

Plyboo Toy Chest / Coffee Table

This is the toy chest I built for my one year old. It's made from Plyboo bamboo plywood, MDF and laminate. I like the contrast between the warm wood pattern and the clean blocks of color. The Plyboo is very dense and ridgid, which makes for a very sturdy box.
